The Home Stretch: A Shimmering Lie Progress Update & Launch Date

If you’ve been wondering whether I’m still buried in the writing cave, the answer is: yes, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm down to the final chapters of drafting A Shimmering Lie. Getting this close to the finish line feels surreal. Working through these final emotional beats has been such an intoxicating journey. I'm so deep in Alec and Eva's world right now that my real-life is a bit of a blur.

Because we are officially in the home stretch, it is time to make things official: October 20th is the official release day!

Pre-Orders & Where to Read

The e-book is officially live for pre-order on Amazon. Alongside the digital edition, the book will also be available in paperback format for those of you who love a physical copy on the shelf.

If you use Kindle Unlimited, I have great news. A Shimmering Lie will be fully included in KU for the first 90 days following launch.

A Quick Note on the Indie Journey

As a first-time self-publishing author, navigating the backend of all this has been a massive learning curve. Choosing to enroll in Kindle Unlimited means keeping the e-book exclusive to Amazon for that initial 90-day window. Down the road, once that window closes, I definitely plan to bring the e-book over to other platforms so everyone can read it wherever they prefer. But for the launch, Amazon and Kindle Unlimited are home base.

Because I'm still figuring out some of the finer points of indie publishing, I am always open to advice, tips, or war stories from fellow authors who have walked this path before.

What’s Happening Next?

With only a few chapters left to write, my focus is entirely on landing this first book with the emotional impact it deserves. Once the draft is locked, I'll be heading into final edits, polishing up the interior details, and getting ready for an unforgettable launch day.
